Planning a Casual Group Gathering at a Bar

A casual gathering at a bar can be one of the easiest parties to plan, as long as a few details are sorted out first.

1. Get a rough guest count

You don't need an exact number, but a range helps. Is it under 10, around 20, or closer to 50? The size of your group shapes everything else, from seating to food.

2. Pick a date, and a backup

Have a first choice and a second option in mind. Popular dates fill up, and flexibility makes planning easier.

3. Decide on indoors or outdoors

Some groups want to be inside, others love being outside. If a venue has a patio, say whether you'd prefer it, or that you don't mind either way. The Bar at the Patch has a covered patio with couches and high-top tables.

4. Think about food

Will people order on their own, or do you want food ready for the group? Shareable bar food like wings, pierogies and fries works well. If you're thinking about a larger order, mention it up front. Browse our menu.

5. Contact the venue early

Reach out well before the date. Share the type of event, date, guest count and seating preference so the venue can tell you what's possible. An inquiry is a starting point, not a confirmed booking.
